End of May
It's almost the end of May, my favorite month. It went by so quickly this year. Thought I would share a card I made for a friend's birthday with some scraps and extra stuff I had around my craft table. I don't usually do blue and purple together but I think this one works. Have a great weekend everyone!

Last day
This is it! Last day of the amuse-bouche Summer release. I finally received my gingham paper and had to use the brown for my beach. That little crab is right at home in his new cabana. No relaxing in there for any humans!!! I used the new sand dollar stamp for the little treasures buried under my sand dunes. Don't they make you want to go shell hunting at the beach? Hurry and go hunting on the other A Muse creative team blogs for more buried treasure!

Making a scene
These new Summer stamps from A muse sure do lend themselves to making a scene. The little pirate bird wanted to take a ride on my new surfboard and who am I to stop him? That island with the palm tree would have been the perfect place to rest but that little bird wanted to ride on. I don't have jenn's talent to cut out my waves by hand since I don't have the waves punch so I used my cuttlebug d'vine swirl embossing folder instead. Aren't these amuse-bouche fun? Just a little taste of the new releases at a time. Tomorrow is the last day to check out the other team member's blogs for inspiration so get going!!!

Dandelions?
Today's amuse-bouche started out as grass and dandelions. When I finished my San Francisco scene I thought about what else I could use the palm tree silhouette stamp for and came up with dandelions. Was going to do the whole summer lawn scene but then I picked up the new alligator stamp and it turned into a swamp. It is funny how these cards just come together. I added those cute little butterflies and the eeeek! stamp and the swamp is complete. These new Summer stamps from A Muse are great so check out the IT blogs and get yourself a little piece of sunshine.

Waiting for da beach
There are some really great beach stamps in A Muse's new Summer Fun release and I couldn't wait to use my Distress Stickles and make myself a little sand. Thought the antique linen color looked just like beach sand and was thinking that it would be perfect little place to stick my surfboard and just have a fun day at the beach. I really wish it would show up better in my photo because there are just the right amount of highlights and lowlights to give the feel of sand. Check out the other A Muse creative team members blogs for more cards that are just beachy!

Sunny San Francisco
Don't you just love using old images with new ones? I do! I am here with another amuse-bouche. As soon as I saw the new palm silhouette and sun stamps from the A Muse Summer 2009 release I thought of the cities of California. Have to admit I first thought of LA but I really wanted to use my love bus so my focus shifted to San Francisco. Even put a micro dot twinkle sticker in the middle of each of the trees making them colorful and fun. Imagine driving down the streets of Haight Ashbury and thinking of the days gone by...

Where did the time go?
Can't believe it has been so long since I have posted last! Have a million reasons why, 3 classes in the last week, my birthday weekend up north, you get the picture. But I am back and sharing a card I made for my local stamp club meeting. We had the challenge of using the black and white striped paper and those square brads, among some other things, on cards. I really went to town with the challenge and used up all the items in our packets. Not sure I will be able to do that again but it was really fun to challenge myself to use everything. I will post a photo of all the cards when I get my challenge card back from the Heidi. If you are in the Wausau area check out the stamp club at the Stamp Shoppe. Someone even makes dessert each month and if you add in a little sugar to a bunch of stamping ladies, well, let's just say a good time is had by all!

Special morning with Jane
Last week, Jane asked me if I wanted to come over we would have a special morning stamping because of my upcoming birthday. You see, she believes in birthday WEEK, not just birthDAY. I love it!!! What a special friend! We got out her new Big Shot and made this matchbox and a cute purse. Played with acetate and build a brads and dies for her new machine. It was so much fun! She even made a coffee cake and had OJ. Normally she drinks coffee but I don't so she got a carton of OJ just for me!!! How did I get so lucky to have a friend that understands the concept of birthday week and bakes and brings in orange juice?

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
I was really excited to use my new 2009 Anniversary stamp set by A Muse for this card. I used the large oval and wanted to make it look like a mirror that would hang on the wall. The new Flourish frame stamp seemed to fit the bill for the top of my "mirror". Embossed it with tinsel embossing powder so it would be extra shiny. Who doesn't like shiny, sparkly things on cards and this embossing powder turned out nicely. It was really a challenge to get a good photo but I think you can get the idea. A super special card for my super special Mom!!!

Thank you, Teri
Made a multiple challenge card today. Glenda has a challenge for us to use green and pink on a card and my friend, Tracy has a sketch challenge I couldn't resist. It was a simple sketch and I didn't participate last week so wanted to get some mileage out of one card this week so I double dipped. Gotta thank my friend, Teri, for the fun day Thursday too. She drove over here and we had lunch and gabbed all afternoon. It was great to have her here. I am supposed to be working on my class cards for June but took a detour and made this little gem.

Don't look, Mom!
Lots of people were asking me to post the earrings my Mom is getting for Mother's Day so I guess I should put them up. I just love making jewelry for my family and friends. It is so fun to be able to craft to my heart's content and see their faces when they open up that special gift. What woman doesn't like getting a new pair of earrings or a bracelet in their favorite color? Hope my Mom likes these, even though they aren't blue!

Happy Anniversary A Muse!
Wow! It is A Muse's 8th anniversary this month! Seems like only yesterday when I was drawn to my first A Muse stamp. I brought it home and started a love affair that has lasted at least 4 years. There will be lots of fun ideas being posted on the A Muse blog until the 15th so hop on over and see what the creative team has made. I made this cute little box for my Mom for Mother's Day. I just love making these boxes because they are just the right size for a pair of earrings or a bracelet. I used the large oval from the 2009 Anniversary set which is only available till the end of May. Check out the A Muse website for all the details and make sure you get your set today!

Making Mistakes
I don't know about you but I always hate making mistakes. I made a big one when I punched out a black scallop circle and just missed on one of the edges. Didn't want to throw away a perfectly good piece of paper so I cut off half of it and used it on this Panda card. Just goes to show you that you should never throw anything away!!! I can't imagine how full of "mistakes" my house would be if I never threw any away but, just this once, I made lemonade out of a lemon.
